词汇 | generation x |
词源 | Generation X. The generation born roughly between 1960 and 1975, one which has often been described as another direc- tionless, disaffected lost generation. The term became popu- lar with the publication of Douglas Coupland’s novel Generation X: Tales for an Accelerated Culture in 1991, but had actually been coined 27 years earlier as the title of a book by Charles Hamblett and Jane Deverson entitled Generation X. Generation Xers are often called “Xers” and “slackers,” the latter from a 1991 film of that name. See baby boom. |
