| 词源 | KF-79. A famous trick play invented by Columbia University coach Lou Little designed to fool Stanford in the 1934 New Year’s Day Rose Bowl football game. Columbia quarterback Cliff Montgomery took the hike from center and handed the ball off to fullback Al Barabas, who hid the ball on his left hip, pretending he hadn’t received it. Montgomery then faked a handoff to Ed Brominski and almost the entire Stanford team chased Brominiski over the goal line while Barabas easily walked into the endzone. The 7–0 upset victory was Columbia’s only appearance in a bowl game. |
