| 词源 | Kewpie doll. In 1909 the American author and magazine illus- trator Rose Cecil O’Neill (1874–1944) published a poem in La- dies’ Home Journal that she illustrated with cupid-like imps. The imps proved so popular that she invented a doll called Kewpie (the name is a form of cupid), which she patented and made a fortune with, in the process adding the term Kewpie doll to the language. |
