词汇 kicks
词源
kicks; get a kick out of. Cole Porter’s “I Get a Kick Out of You” isn’t the source of this expression, though nowhere are the words put to better use. The phrase goes back to the turn of the century and was first used to describe the effects of liquor or drugs, not love. The case for drugs is strong, for the related ex- pression to get a charge out of something derives from addicts’ use of charge for the injection of a narcotic. Kicks, anything that gives one a thrill or satisfaction, comes from the same source as the phrase.
