词源	coon. This racial slur against a black person may have noth- ing to do with the animal called a raccoon, or coon, which de- rives from an American Indian word. Coon here possibly comes from the last syllable of the Portuguese barracoos, which is pro- nounced coon and meant “buildings especially constructed to hold slaves for sale.”
