词源	foxhound. The American foxhound (usually a black, white, and tan combination) is a variation of the English foxhound, both of them used in packs for fox hunting. It is one of the few dog breeds developed in the U.S. (another being the Boston terrier). George Washington helped develop and owned a good many foxhounds. See hound; in at the kill; tallyho.
