词源 | in limbo. Something or someone in limbo is in an intermedi- ate state or in oblivion. The term derives from the place called Limbo in Roman Catholic theology that is located on the bor- der of Hell, a place where souls reside that cannot enter into Heaven. The Roman Catholic church no longer teaches this doctrine. |
