词源 | feeding frenzy. Wild, unseemly attention from the media to- ward someone in the news has aptly been called a feeding fren- zy since the 1980s. Feeding frenzies of sharks, which suggested the expression, were so named 30 years or so before this and describe a pack of sharks surrounding and attacking a large wounded fish or whale. |
