German scientist Paul Ehrlich (1854–1915) coined the term chemotherapy, the treatment of disease using chemical agents or drugs that are selectively toxic to the causative agent of the disease. He also introduced the term magic bullet, something that cures without harmful side effects. He won the Nobel Prize in medicine in 1908. |
