词源	argosy. This large ship carrying rich cargo takes its name from the once great Adriatic seaport of Ragusa, the former name of the present-day Dubrovnik, Croatia. Italians called the Ragusan vessels ragusea, and the English corrupted ragusea, in several stages, to ragusye, arragouse, aragosa, and finally argosy.
