| 词源 | Corn Husker’s State. This is the popular nickname for Ne- braska, deriving from the nickname of the University of Ne- braska football team. But a 1895 Nebraska law made it officially the Tree Planters State. It has also been called the Beef State, the Antelope State, and the Black Water State (from the dark color of its rivers). Its humorous nickname the Bugeater’s State dates back to the 19th century, when Nebraskans were called bugeat- ers because of widespread poverty in the state. |
