词汇 simenon
词源
Simenon. A Simenon is a serious psychological novel of about 50,000 words written by author Georges Simenon—and written in a rather unique way. Simenon gets a complete medi- cal examination before he begins one of these critically praised short novels. He then literally locks himself in a room and, working from the barest of notes, allows himself seven days to write each book and three days to revise. Simenons are distinct from the author’s popular Inspector Maigret stories, which are highly respected in the mystery field. Born in Liège, Belgium on February 13, 1903, the prolific but not prolix Simenon has authored some 500 novels since he began writing at the age of 19, many of these admittedly potboilers turned out under a score of pseudonyms.
