词源	Pontiac. The one American car named after an Indian, in this case Chief Pontiac of the Ottawa tribe, who waged Pontiac’s War against the British in 1763. Though his tribe lost the war, Pontiac’s name became legend in Michigan, and two centuries later Detroit’s General Motors Corporation gave his name to the car and mounted his head on the hood.
