Queen of the Hill Bill. I’ve heard this expression just once, but I’m sure it must be common in the U.S. House of Represen- tatives, because it was used as if it were an everyday phrase there by Congressman Harold Ford during a Fox News inter- view (7/1/01). The Tennessee Democrat defined a Queen of the Hill Bill as the favorite bill among many on a subject, the one bill that should be discussed and voted upon. The Hill, of course, is a synonym for the U.S. Congress. |
