词源 | cheerio; cheers. Cheerio means good-bye or good health. Used as a toast and when parting among the British, the word was first recorded in 1910 as cheero, which is rarely heard today. The British also use cheers as a toast, as do Americans, and the British and Irish say cheers as a synonym for “thanks” when ac- knowledging a small favor. |
