词源 | chickee. 1) An American term for someone who serves as a lookout in a crime such as a burglary. “You guys go in, I’ll play (or lay) chickee.” 2) A cry made by a criminal or schoolboy lookout meaning stop what you’re doing and get out of there, as in “Chickee, the cops!” Both uses date back to at least the 1930s, and the word is often spelled chickie.
