People who live in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones. This old proverb dates back to the 14th century. It means don’t criticize others if you have faults yourself. English poet George Herbert used a variation on it in Jacula Prudentum (1640): “Whose house is of glass, must not throw stones at another.” |
