词汇 | pangram |
词源 | pangram. A pangram, from the Greek pan, all, plus gramma, something drawn, is a sentence containing all the letters of the alphabet. Many logolepts would take issue with The Guinness Book of World Records, which says that the shortest English sentence containing all twenty-six letters of the alphabet is: “Jackdaws love my big sphinx of quartz.” That’s 31 letters. “Frowsy things plumb vex’d Jack Q.” has only 27 and there are certainly others just as short. |
