| 词源 | Chagas’ disease. A disease spread by the kissing bug (qv), which is named for Brazilian physician Carlos Chagas (1879– 1934), who in 1909 first described it. Chagas’ is found only in the Americas, where it kills 50,000 people a year. Sometimes the kissing bug bites its victims while they are sleeping. |
