bourgeois (adj.)

1560年代，“与法国中产阶级有关的”，源自法语 bourgeois，源自古法语 burgeis, borjois “城镇居民”（与“农民”不同），源自 borc “城镇，村庄”，源自法兰克语 *burg “城市”（通过日耳曼语系从 PIE 词根 *bhergh-（2）“高”，带有指向山丘和山堡的派生词）。
