词源 | concubine. An old English word recorded in the 13th centu- ry for a woman who cohabits with a man she isn’t married to, or a woman who is kept in a harem. The word ultimately de- rives from the Latin con, with, plus cubare, to lie down, hence a woman who lies down with (a man). |
