| 词源 | comptroller. There is really no good reason for this word. It is pronounced the same as controller and means the same, except that it looks a bit more elegant than its counterpart. Probably influenced in spelling by the French compte, “account,” comp- troller means the official in a business firm who controls funds, just as controller does. |
