词源	iodine. This common antiseptic is, oddly enough, named af- ter the violet. Iodine derives from the Greek word iodes, “like a violet,” which in turn comes from the Greek ion, “violet.” The iodine we commonly use is rust-colored, but when heated it forms a dense violet-colored vapor.
