词汇 | cherry-picking |
词源 | cherry-picking. Discounters are often accused of “cherry- picking”—selling a great volume of a small selection of high turnover merchandise, or as Fortune Magazine once put it, a policy that concentrates only on fast-money, high-profit goods that are constantly in demand by an overwhelming majority of customers. “We’re only giving the public what it wants,” the dis- counters reply. The practice is sometimes called “creaming.” |
