not to worry. Not to worry, “don’t worry, there isn’t anything to worry about,” became very popular in the late 1950s, but probably dates back earlier as British army slang. Some schol- ars trace it to the Italian non tormentarsi and others suggest a Maltese connection, but not to worry is more likely simply a shortening of the British “You are not to worry.” |
