词汇 | gee-gee |
词源 | gee-gee. This term for a poor or mediocre racehorse isn’t an Americanism. It can be traced back to England over 150 years ago and derives from the turning command gee given to a work- horse pulling a wagon. A racehorse called a gee-gee is thus compared to a common workhorse. Gee alone was also English slang for a horse. |
