词汇 | boomer |
词源 | boomer. Someone who was born during the prolific post– World War II baby boom, a sharp increase in the birth rate that lasted from about 1947 through 1961. Boomer is of course short for baby boomer, which is first found in print in a 1974 Time magazine article. In 1941 Life magazine used the term baby boom, but it did not refer to the post–World War II boom. In Australia a boomer is a large, full-grown kangaroo. See baby boom; generation x. |
