| 词源 | gallium. French chemist Paul-Emil Lecoq de Boisbaudran named this element after Gallia, the Latin name for present- day France, on discovering it, in 1874. Some etymologists sus- pect that the scientist may have been crowing a bit, however, as le coq means “rooster” in French and “rooster” is gallus in Latin. |
