Scarface. A few movies, a few books, and a plethora of newsprint has been spent on U.S. mobster Al Capone (1899– 1947). Scarface, or Big Al, personally murdered at least 25 men, including five or so brained with a baseball bat. He was also responsible for Chicago’s infamous St. Valentine’s Day Massacre. Capone got the three jagged scars on the left side of his face from fellow mobster Frank Galluccio, after he insulted Galluccio’s sister. Scarface is said to have died, half mad, of syphilis. |
