词源 | slipslop. A slipslop is a malapropism. In this case the syn onym for the misuse of words comes from the name of Mrs. Slipslop, the chambermaid in Henry Fielding’s novel Joseph Andrews (1742). Mrs. Slipslop utters a few words nobody has been able to translate yet, including “ragmaticellest mophro dites.” See goldwynism. |
