词汇 masher
词源
masher. The first mashers may have been not men but Gyp- sy women who flirted with men. This may be the case if the word for a man who makes passes at women in public places comes from the Gypsy expression masherava, “to allure, en- tice with the eye.” Masher could, however, derive from the standard English sense of mash, “to crush, pound, smash.” Mash in the lewd sense is first recorded in America in 1860, masher in 1875.
