Phi Beta Kappa. A U.S. national honor society whose lifetime members, both college undergraduates and graduates, are cho- sen on the basis of high academic achievement. Founded in 1776 at the College of William and Mary in Virginia, Phi Beta Kappa is the oldest Greek-letter society.
