词汇 | critical list |
词源 | critical list. Someone in critical condition medically has ab- normal, unstable vital signs and other unfavorable signs such as loss of appetite and unconsciousness. Such a person is put on the “critical list” in a hospital, and this is reported to callers or visitors seeking the patient’s condition. The British call the same list by the somewhat less ominous term danger list. “He’s better now, he’s off the critical (danger) list.” |
