disputation (n.)

14世纪晚期， disputacioun，“关于某事真相的正式辩论或讨论，面向观众或官方机构”，源自古法语 desputasion，直接源自拉丁语 disputationem（主格 disputatio），是 disputare 的动名词形式，“权衡，检查，讨论，争论，解释”（参见 dispute（v.））。早期的说法是 desputeison（约1300年），源自古法语 desputaison。
