词源	Code of Hammurabi. One of the first legal codes, instituted in the 20th century b.c. by Babylonian ruler Hammurabi. His code of laws is generally humanitarian, except for its eye for an eye provision. It is carved on a dioribe column in 3,600 lines of cuneiform. See eye for an eye.
