词源 | croissant. Croissants were first made by the Viennese in 1689 to celebrate the lifting of the siege of Vienna by the Turks. The Viennese called the rich crescent-shaped rolls Hornchen, “a crescent-shaped object,” but today the French croissant, a trans- lation of Hornchen, is their most common name throughout the world. |
