词源	Clarabell the Clown. A Howdy Doody Show star who was played mostly by Lew Anderson (1922–2006), though others played Clarabell before him. Honking on his horn as Harpo Marx did, Anderson played practical jokes on his buddies Buf- falo Bob Smith and Howdy Doody for 2,243 episodes of the first TV show directed at what is now called the baby boomer generation. Another Clarabell before him was Bob Keeshan, later the star of early morning children’s show Captain Kanga roo. Anderson was also a highly regarded bandleader and songwriter.
