pigs get slaughtered. This is an old Wall Street adage that I’ve never seen recorded anywhere. It probably dates back to the 19th century and describes speculators who hold onto a stock after they have seen a good profit on it, hoping to make more and often losing their shirts when the stock drops sharply. A longer variation is bulls make money, bears make money, but pigs get slaughtered (or die broke) |
