| 词源 | pervert. Deriving from the Latin word for to turn, pervert originally meant to turn upside down. Three hundred years lat- er, by the 17th century, it had come to be a noun meaning “one who practices sexual perversion.” An old anecdote has Voltaire participating in an orgy with a group of dissolute Parisians. In- vited to participate again, he replied, “No thank you, my friends. Once: a philosopher. Twice: a pervert!” |
