词汇 pavlovian response
词源
Pavlovian response. Another name for a conditioned reflex. Russian scientist Ivan Petrovich Pavlov (1849–1936) made the term famous with his experiments with dogs showing that their saliva can be stimulated not just by food, but by the sound of a bell that the dogs were conditioned to hearing be- fore being served the food. Pavlov won the Nobel Prize in 1904, the first Russian to do so, but the award was given for his work on the nature of digestion. Today Pavlovian response or reaction generally means any response made without thinking, a knee-jerk reaction, one strongly influenced by others.
