词源	pack a jury. According to Weekley, pack here comes from the obsolete pack meaning “to make secret arrangements” serving one’s own purpose. The obsolete word was, however, originally pact and became pack by mispronunciation. This same pack, first recorded in 1530, is used in the expression to pack a deck of cards.
