Over-sexed Weekly. A nickname for the U.S. military news- paper the Oversea’s Weekly, alluding to its pinups and lively, lu- rid stories. It was not published during World War II and thus has no connection with the anonymous British saying about Yank servicemen: “They’re overfed, oversexed, overpaid and over here.” The paper began publication in the 1960s. |
