词源 | Bragg’s law; Bragg angle; Bragg loop. Only one father-and- son team has jointly won the Nobel Prize in physics (or any other field). The winners are English physicist William Henry Bragg (1862–1942) and his son, physicist William Lawrence Bragg (1890–1971), who are responsible for Bragg’s law, which is “the fundamental law of X-ray crystallography.” The Bragg angle, “the small angle between an incident X-ray beam and planes of a crystal,” also honors them. The Bragg loop, an an- tisubmarine device used in World War I, was invented by the Braggs after they won the Nobel in 1915. |
