| 词源 | bored. British actor George Sanders committed suicide, leav- ing behind a note saying that he had been bored by it all. An- other worldly Englishman, the poet Lord Byron, used the word bored for “wearied, suffering from ennui,” in Don Juan (1823), in which he wrote: Society is now one polished horde Formed of two mighty tribes, the bores and the bored. Bored is first recorded in 1768, apparently being a figurative use of to bore, “to pierce, make a hole through,” although the French bourrer, “to stuff or pad,” has also been suggested. |
