词源 | gazumping. A term coined in Britain that is often heard in the U.S. and Australia as well. The word, when used in relation to real estate transactions, refers to the practice of a seller refus- ing to honor an agreement with a buyer and selling his property to someone else for more money. No one knows with certainty the origin of gazumping, which was first recorded in 1928, re- ferring to swindling in general. |
