词源 | flabbergasted. Astounded or utterly confused. A relatively new word, flabbergast is first recorded in a British magazine ar- ticle called “On New Words” in 1772. It is possibly a combina- tion of flabby and aghast, but neither the source of the word nor its inventor is known. |
