词源	butterfly pea. A woody perennial vine of the pea family, the butterfly pea (Clitoria mariana) has pale blue flowers that ap- pear as if upside down, the standard (the upper, broad and usu- ally erect petal of a pea flower) much larger than the rest of the flowers. It takes its popular name from its imagined resem- blance to a butterfly. One gardening guide says “the origin of [the genus name] clitoria is unprintable”; fortunately, it is not too difficult to figure out. See avocado; pea.
