词源	Dr. Pepper. The popular soft drink was so named by Texas druggist Wade Morrison in 1885 after a certain Miss Pepper, a Virginia belle whose father ended their courtship. The “tonic, brain food and exhilarant” (as it was called then) was invented by Charles Aldeston, a clerk in Morrison’s store.
