Woolworth’s. The great American retailer Frank W. Wool- worth’s death in 1919 was an ironic one, for the same W. H. Moore who had given him his start was indirectly responsible for his death. Moore had had all his teeth removed by a dentist late in life and died in the dentist’s office of a stroke. Woolworth refused all dental care from that day on and subsequently died of septic poisoning. See five-and-ten. |
