| 词源 | Legionnaires’ disease. During a 1976 convention held by the American Legion in a Philadelphia hotel, hundreds of legion- naires came down with a type of pneumonia no one had known before. Twenty-nine men died from Legionella pneumophilia, or Legionnaires’ disease, which was found to be thriving in the hotel’s air-conditioning unit. |
